My approach
I am not a proponent of restriction and denial because it doesn’t work in the long term and life should be enjoyed. My approach is based on taking small steps to “crowd out” sugary and processed foods with nutritious, delicious options that are quick and easy to make.
As a Health Coach, my approach is holistic. I will help you to identify what is at the root of your health concerns that could be holding you back, connecting the dots to help you see how different areas and stages of your life influence your behaviour.
Is stress at work causing you to overeat or reach for sugary treats?
Are you menopausal and suffer with low mood, bloating and increased weight gain, disturbed sleep, fatigue, hot flushes, sugar cravings and not coping with demands of family and/or work?
Have you had a diagnosis of breast cancer, completed all your treatment and now discharged back to your GP but still want to know how you can continue to support your health and wellbeing for the future to reduce recurrence through a holistic balanced approach?
I will help you to find your own healthy balance, so you feel the amazing benefits of a healthy eating routine but you are able to mindfully enjoy occasional treats and meals out, without the cycle of guilt that can take up so much of our mental space. Finding this balance really is the key to sustaining your health long term.
My aim is to equip clients with the knowledge, self-awareness and skills needed to get in touch with your own body’s needs, and to deconstruct myths and cravings, so you truly learn what makes you feel at your best. You will feel empowered and in control even when life throws you curveballs.
My strengths lie in my supportive and conscientious approach, and I truly love seeing the women and men I work with take small steps that add up to amazing changes in how they feel.
Crowding Out
Many diets dictate a list of foods to avoid and foods to eat, which explains why so many people are turned off by nutrition. My approach is different – by eating and drinking foods that are good for you, you will naturally have less room and desire for unhealthy foods. Simply put, you will crowd out the unhealthy food in your diet. This takes a little practice to make it happen, but I will support you along the way.
Deconstructing Cravings
Cravings play a critical role in understanding what your body needs. When you learn how to deconstruct your cravings and understand what they are really telling you, you will be able to reclaim a sense of balance and harmony.
Lifestyle
Your health is impacted by all areas of your life, not just what's on your plate or how much or little exercise you do. As a holistic health coach, I understand the importance of reducing stress and creating balance and calmness to improve health. I work with clients to look at different aspects of life from relationships and career, to hobbies and recreation, to identify areas that are lacking fulfilment or causing underlying stress. Together, we will come up with practical steps to achieve change.
