Approaching Menopause

  • Menopause is a naturally occurring event in a women’s life that is usually a gradual process as oestrogen levels start to fall.

  • This process starts at an average age of 45 years but is not actually finished until around the age of 51 or more and is characterised by irregular periods, mood swings, hot flushes and or frequent sweats, weight gain, fatigue, sleep problems and low energy, as our hormones control our moods, emotions and energy levels. If this process is creating havoc in your life you are not alone and you do not have to suffer alone.

  • Research reports 1 in 4 women will experience severe debilitating symptoms and approximately two thirds of women say there is a general lack of support and understanding and one person in four with menopause symptoms is concerned about their ability to cope with life.
